Hi, I’m Simone Edmonson. Thank you for stopping by my page. As you can see, I’m a mocha-colored mom who dreams of showing little girls that every shade in the rainbow is beautiful. Unfortunately, growing up in the Peach State, there were precious few positive representations of Black beauty in the marketplace, so I decided to create a space for Black and brown kids to feel beautiful in their own skin. Et voila, Dreams and Jammies was born!
My personal journey to building this successful company has had some ups and downs, but as a 2-time cancer survivor, I believe we should make the most of our days. Dreams and Jammies is a realization of one of my personal aspirations, and I think it is my purpose to help youngsters love who they see in the mirror. These days school-aged children have so much to deal with, but when they pull on plush pajamas with smiling faces that look like theirs, kids are instantly wrapped in a cocoon of safety and peace.
As the product of a hard-working single mom from Statesboro, Georgia, I know how precious a pair of pj’s can be to make the nighttime ritual one they enjoy. So now I give that same gift to thousands of kids worldwide. My goals is to provide a pajama that kids want to wear every night. My line promotes sweet dreams for little boys who can now see themselves as superheroes and little curly haired girls are affirmed.
My corporate journey began with a successful stint at Allstate Insurance, where I used my Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree from Georgia Southern University. The education equipped me to excel there for more than 2 decades, but my entrepreneurial spirit knew there was more to my story. Soon I began opening several small businesses, which flourished, yet there was still more to do.
The idea of Dreams and Jammies came to me as a way to touch the little ones by inspiring them with images that support a positive view of them. Knowing that little girls of color especially need this, I created this pajama line to celebrate the unique features that make them beautiful.
I poured my heart and soul into every design and fabric choice to make this unique product just for your little one. I hope your princess can feel the heart and passion it took to create something she will cherish for years to come.
Thank you for reading my story and joining me on this journey to help our kids feel secure and loved in this world.
